Your closest and most intimate family relationships CAN and SHOULD bring you a sense of calm and joy, not stress and anxiety. That is why I choose to work with couples and their families. I focus on changing their interaction patterns, teaching them to communicate respectfully, and soothe their own (and each other’s) emotional reactions. Using researched based CBT and Gottman inspired interventions, they learn to discuss their feelings and respectfully express their needs. They gain skills that help them navigate changing family dynamics, coordinate parenting, and clarify their values. The individuals, couples, and families who come to my practice increase their emotional (and physical) intimacy, repair major past betrayals, and learn to enjoy each other’s company again.
